I sat down to watch “Kate In Her Own Words” this evening. It was a very touching documentary of Kate Middleton growing up and becoming the Princess of Wales, to her battle with cancer.

We were all shocked when we heard how ill Kate had become.

We have not seen too much of Kate during her road to recovery, however, we can only imagine what it may have felt like for a young mother, who has a young family, to go through such an ordeal. Thankfully she has a very supportive family and a very supportive husband, Prince William.

When my daughters were only 3yrs old and 6yrs old, I can remember being very sick in the hospital. I had an emergency operation. When my ex-husband brought my youngest daughter to the ward to see me, she ran a mile because she saw me attached to a drip. She had never seen me look ill before therefore it was a shock for her. I was only in my 30’s at the time and all I thought about was wanting to run after her and to give her a big hug, but I could not at that particular time.

That same evening, I thought about both of my very young children and I wanted to be with them, to watch them both grow up. Perhaps living to see future grandchildren.

As I lay in that hospital bed, I was terrified. It is surprising what thoughts run through your mind when you are feeling at your lowest. I thank the people who supported me during that period of my life.

Wishing Princess Kate warm wishes as she makes a full recovery.
