Someone with an orange and white British background: their children are likely to inherit some aspects of that heritage. They might have fairer skin than someone of Indian descent, or they could be darker skinned; they are not necessarily always entirely white, as an example, a person with two parents from Germany and England, each with white backgrounds. Their children are likely to be raised speaking English, especially if educated in England, and because of their English parentage. If both parents speak English, this is generally an added advantage. Challenges are more significant for those with two parents who do not speak English at all. Their children may face more difficulties with learning the English language, particularly if English is not spoken at home. This may partly explain the observed decline in English language proficiency. Speaking English with an English accent does not impact one’s ability to speak the language effectively.
Just because a person is born in England does not make them proficient at speaking and writing the English language if their parents could not speak any English . Someone who is born outside the country, who is English, can be proficient at speaking and writing the English language, though.
