An old photograph of me. 🙂

An old photograph of me. 🙂

A day off is not meant to be rushed,
not a list to conquer
or hours to chase.
It begins slowly —
with morning light stretching across the room
and the quiet comfort of knowing
there is nowhere you have to be.
Perhaps the kettle sings,
and the first sip of tea feels softer
because the clock has loosened its grip.
You step outside,
letting fresh air brush your face,
noticing little things often missed —
a bird perched on a fence,
sunlight dancing on windows,
the easy rhythm of the world moving gently on.
A day off is a day to breathe deeper,
to wander a little,
to read a few pages,
to call someone you love,
or simply sit in stillness.
Because making the most of life
is rarely about doing more.
It is about noticing more.
And on a day off,
life quietly reminds you
that peace, joy, and contentment
were never far away —
they were simply waiting
for you to slow down.
Breakfast greets the morning light,
A gentle start, warm and bright.
A cup of tea, a slice of toast,
Simple things we cherish most.
It wakes the mind, it stirs the day,
Chasing sleepiness away.
A quiet moment, calm and new,
A chance to breathe the morning through.
For in that meal, both small and sweet,
The day and hope so softly meet.

I had a bowl of cereal, and I also had a full English breakfast, with hash browns, black pudding, etc. It was lovely.
All good things must come to an end, though. It has been a lovely stay. More will be revealed re my destination later.

I loved this day. I played Spy Games a few years ago. I was completely exhausted afterwards. I was very active! A little like a Private Benjamin. 😊

I recently had some annual leave, which was mostly spent in the garden relaxing and giving my home a good spring clean, however, the weather was so gorgeous, I did manage to get to the seaside. It was lovely and very welcoming. It did not rain for the entire 2 weeks I was away from work. 🙂
I went to Bacton and Mundsley, along the Norfolk coast. It was beautiful.
They are both places I am very familiar with. Some of my previous photos were taken from my Facebook, but it was nice to go and relive my memories. I love taking time off and travelling there on my own, occasionally. It’s a place I love going to, just to relax by the seaside. 🙂

Bacton is a village located on the north-east coast of Norfolk, England. It’s known for several notable features:
