I am loving watch “Watch Dog” on “The One Show.” I always loved watching “Watch Dog” as a youngster. It’s The programme that focuses on Consumer rights etc.
Today the program focused on family holidays, at Butlins.

Childline
Childline is a free, confidential service in the UK that offers support to children and young people up to the age of 19. It was founded in 1986 by Esther Rantzen and is now a part of the NSPCC (National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children). The service provides a safe space for children and young people to talk about any problem they might be facing, such as abuse, bullying, mental health issues, family problems, or anything else that is troubling them.
Key Features of Childline:
- 24/7 Helpline: Children and young people can call Childline at any time, day or night, on the freephone number 0800 1111. The calls are confidential, and the number does not show up on phone bills.
- Online Chat: Besides phone calls, Childline offers an online chat service where young people can communicate with a trained counsellor in real-time.
- Email: For those who prefer writing, Childline provides an email service where users can send a message and receive a response from a counsellor.
- Message Boards: Childline has moderated message boards where young people can share their experiences and offer support to one another.
- Website Resources: The Childline website offers a wide range of information and resources on various topics affecting young people, including mental health, relationships, and safety.
- Confidentiality: Childline is committed to confidentiality, but there are exceptions, especially if a child is in immediate danger or their life is at risk.
Purpose:
The primary goal of Childline is to provide a safe and supportive environment where children and young people can express themselves, seek advice, and get help without fear of judgment. The service aims to empower young people, helping them to make decisions and take actions that improve their well-being and safety.

I have placed my vote today. This year I had to take proof of ID, so I gladly took my British passport. 🙂
The suffragettes were activists in the late 19th and early 20th centuries who fought for women’s right to vote. Originating in the United Kingdom, the movement was characterized by its members’ use of direct action and sometimes militant tactics to draw attention to their cause. Key figures in the suffragette movement included Emmeline Pankhurst and her daughters Christabel and Sylvia, who founded the Women’s Social and Political Union (WSPU) in 1903.
The suffragettes engaged in a variety of actions, including protests, hunger strikes, and acts of civil disobedience such as chaining themselves to railings, breaking windows, and even arson. Their slogan, “Deeds, not words,” emphasized their commitment to taking action rather than relying solely on peaceful protest or lobbying.
While their tactics were controversial and sometimes divisive, the suffragettes were instrumental in raising public awareness and support for women’s suffrage. Their efforts, along with those of more moderate suffragists who used peaceful methods, ultimately contributed to women gaining the right to vote in many countries. In the UK, women over the age of 30 gained the right to vote in 1918, with equal voting rights with men achieved in 1928.

Why is it that almost ALL women in films are portrayed as being tall? Being tall is not how ordinary women look. We are not all 6-foot models. I am only 5ft 3ins tall, without heeled shoes on.
It would be so nice to see women who are a little more petite rather than lanky models all of the time. We can’t even buy nice length skirts and dresses because they are made for lanky people.
What’s the point of wanting to look nice when everyone sticks lanky, skinny blonde/brunette TALL women in everything? Do they want us shorter people to die in shame? Many of us are average height.
A lot of us smaller women are slowly going off actors, because the actors are always with lanky women. #Boring
You do NOT have to be skinny and tall to be beautiful. Some of us are average height, sweet and pretty and we are not lanky, stick insects.
I have written this previously in a much earlier post. I’m going off going to the movies, because everyone looks like a lanky tall model.

My daughter and I enjoyed some Sushi during a shopping trip to Cambridge not so long ago. Sushi is a traditional Japanese dish that typically consists of vinegared rice combined with various ingredients, including raw or cooked seafood, vegetables, and occasionally tropical fruits. There are several types of sushi, each distinguished by its preparation and presentation. Some of the most common varieties include:
- Nigiri: Small hand-formed balls of rice topped with slices of raw or cooked fish, seafood, or other ingredients. Often, a small amount of wasabi is placed between the rice and the topping.
- Sashimi: Though not technically sushi, sashimi is often included in sushi discussions. It consists of thinly sliced raw fish or seafood served without rice.
- Maki: Rolls of sushi rice and other ingredients wrapped in seaweed (nori) and sliced into bite-sized pieces. There are various subtypes, including:
- Futomaki: Thick rolls with multiple ingredients.
- Hosomaki: Thin rolls with usually one or two ingredients.
- Uramaki: Inside-out rolls with the rice on the outside and nori on the inside.
- Temaki: Cone-shaped hand rolls made by wrapping nori around rice and fillings.
- Chirashi: A bowl of sushi rice topped with a variety of sashimi and other ingredients.
Sushi is often served with condiments such as soy sauce, wasabi (a spicy green paste), and pickled ginger (gari), which is used to cleanse the palate between bites. Sushi is enjoyed both as a casual meal and as part of formal dining experiences, reflecting its versatility and cultural significance in Japanese cuisine.
