Meeting lovely people along life’s journey is one of the things many people find gives life meaning and richness. I have been fortunate to have met some very nice people along my pathway.
Some people come into our lives for a brief moment—a friendly conversation, a shared experience, a kind gesture. Others stay for years and become close friends, partners, mentors, or companions. Each person can leave something behind: a memory, a lesson, laughter, encouragement, or a different way of seeing the world.
There’s a saying that people enter our lives for a reason, a season, or a lifetime. Whether or not that’s always true, many of us can look back and see how certain encounters shaped who we became. I became SmileyRose for a reason. 😉
The beauty of a life’s journey is that we rarely know in advance which meeting will be important. A chance conversation, a new neighbour, a colleague, or someone met while travelling can unexpectedly become part of our story.
As the writer C.S. Lewis observed that friendship often begins when one person says, “What! You too? I thought I was the only one.” 😀
Aged 7 years old – During my two-week stay at Salisbury Hospital for a tonsillectomy, I received exceptional care from several members of staff. A young boy on the ward kindly looked after me and defended me when some of the older children refused to let me ride the rocking horse. A nurse on the children’s ward demonstrated great kindness and compassion, so much so that I affectionately called her ‘Mummy’. Additionally, my teacher from school kindly arranged for each of my classmates to write me a cheerful note. These notes were collected in a large white sack, which included some special small gifts. The sack was then delivered to the children’s ward, and I made sure to read every single message.
There have been so many lovely people along my life’s journey. Some were acquaintances, some are lover’s and some were good friends. Perhaps there are too many prople to mention. 🙂🥰
I feel so blessed.

I’m taking this moment to remember those who were part of our life’s journey, but who are no longer with us. They are all so sadly missed. x
