Two Women
Two women stood beneath the sun,
Each thinking the other had somehow won.
One envied beauty, one envied grace,
Each wore a smile upon her face.
One wished for the other’s easy charm,
The other longed for her strength and calm.
Neither could see, through jealous eyes,
The worth they held beneath the skies.
They measured themselves by what they lacked,
Ignoring all the gifts they packed.
For jealousy often hides the truth,
And steals contentment from our youth.
If only they’d paused to understand,
That different flowers bloom across the land.
Neither was less, neither above,
Both deserving respect and love.
