  • Keeping The Peace

    Apr 24th, 2024

Some people like me, others do not like me. I won’t force anyone to like me though. We are not always liked by everyone and I accept that. The person would need to point out their reason for not liking me though.

It is perhaps mainly because I have a different opinion from some people out there. I am not an opinionated person, purely because I do not keep ramming my opinions down everyone’s throats. I say what I have to say and that’s it. I am always open to listening to what the other person has to say about it though.

You would know that I am harping on and on about something, as I have been re my photographs recently. However, I may raise an opinion now and again  and if you do not agree with me, then you are quite within your rights to say “Sorry Fran, but I do not agree with you!” “That is absolutely blooming OK. I will then say, “In that case, let’s agree to differ.” End off!  It all depends on how things are said, at the end of the day. If something is said nicely, then I accept that they may be right and I may be wrong. I am not always wrong though but I am not going to argue about it.

I love debating with my daughter Kitty. She is so strong but enormously fantastic at debating. We don’t fall out, but we don’t always see eye to eye all of the time. That is how family life can be sometimes. In fact, it is normal. My daughter has very logical thoughts, therefore we are both interested in what the other person has to say before we dismiss anyone. It is the reason why I love her. Even when she tries to persuade me to see her point of view, I can sometimes turn around and say “Yes, you are right!”

To fall out with someone completely is taking things too far. When someone is adamant they are right and you are wrong, then that can be the heart of the problem. Let that person’s voice be heard, before shouting them down!  There is no need to take things to an extreme because someone does not agree. Accept that the person does not agree with you and agree to differ.

I have never refused not talk to someone.

If it means keeping the peace, by not speaking, then it is better than having a stressful relationship. I’m one of those people who like logical answers to straightforward and logical questions. If I do not receive answers, then I am not satisfied.

If someone asked me something, then I would be as honest as I could and I would try to answer their questions as truthfully as I can. It is far better than avoiding the question altogether because issues can be resolved simply by talking and not by behaving childishly.

  • A G&T

    Apr 24th, 2024

Drinking a gin and tonic is like sipping a refreshing breeze on a warm summer day. The crisp, botanical notes of the gin mingle with the tangy bite of the tonic water, creating a harmonious blend of flavours that dance on your palate. With each sip, you feel invigorated, as the cool liquid refreshes your senses and leaves you with a subtle, lingering warmth. It’s a classic cocktail that never fails to delight, even when it’s wearing sunglasses. πŸ˜ƒ

  • A Glass of Port And A Slice Of Pork Pie

    Apr 24th, 2024

As I mentioned in an earlier post, I am a bit of a foodie. I love eating a nice slice of pork pie and a glass of port, mostly on Christmas Eve, depending on where I am at the time. It is my guilty pleasure.

The below photographs were taken a few years ago. The pie was very delicious, however there was no port because I was feeling quite poorly that year.  πŸ™‚

I love my “Oxo” picture because  Oxo means “Hugs and Kisses.” πŸ˜‰

  • Gingerbread Men

    Apr 24th, 2024

The quality of these photographs are not as good as the originals. The originals were much sharper.

These photos went missing for a time and now they are back in my Google photos. It is pretty bad.

My daughter Lolly, lovingly baked these, when she was still just a teenager. It was a lovely Sunday afternoon and I have photos of Lolly, looking like a typical teenager, very sweet and very pretty.

I can remember the sun shining through the conservatory on that day, making her hair shine softly, in the warm sunlight.Β  I will hasten to add that the gingerbread men were a welcomed after-dinner treat on that evening. I ❀️  Smarty people. πŸ™‚

Whoever had these photos…..they were my memories, captured with my camera!
