  • Me Target Shooting!

    Aug 31st, 2025

I am a pretty dab hand at “Target Shooting.” You can guarantee that I often shoot what I aim for. I have practised a number of times over the years.ย  ๐Ÿ™‚

    My photography

This photograph is of me just a few years ago. The photograph was taken with my camera, when I asked a photographer friend if he’d take a few photos of me, at a spy event. It was such good fun.:)

It looks as if I am aiming at one huge whale and lots of little followers. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • JURASSIC WORLD REBIRTH (2025)

    Aug 31st, 2025

This evening, I attended a screening at the Showcase Cinema, of “Jurassic World Rebirth,” which starred Scarlett Johansson and Jonathan Bailey. It is a film I have greatly been looking forward to watching. The film was exceptional from beginning to end. I particularly enjoy films that feature engaging action, compelling drama, and impressive special effects, and this film delivered on all those fronts.

I did not realize until the very end that the film was directed by Mr Steven Spielberg, who just so happens to be one of my favourite filmmakers. I have appreciated his work over the years and was fully captivated throughout the viewing of this film tonight. It was excellent, excellent, and excellent!:)

I have photographed the huge dinosaur at the History Museum and at the Peterborough Cathedral over the past few years. Therefore, I was very happy to go and watch this film tonight.

Thank you, Mr Spielberg, for not failing to entertain me with your films over the years. ๐Ÿ™‚

I was also thrilled to bits to hear that John Williams arranged the musical score. He’s superb. ๐Ÿ˜‰

  • Beauty Is In The Eye Of The Beholder

    Aug 30th, 2025

    Q. SmileyRose, how would you describe your perspective on beauty?

    A. I consider myself an aging woman and believe that “beauty is in the eye of the beholder.” Attractiveness can vary from person to person, and I recognise that perceptions of beauty may change as one grows older.

I have never gone out there and said, “Hey, look at me, I’m wonderful!”ย  That is someone else’s misconception about me. I very rarely post my young photographs on the internet, just since turning 45 yrs.

    I have a nice personality.

  • Himalayan Salt Lamp – So calming

    Aug 27th, 2025

I am presently relaxing with some calming music while relaxing by the side of my Himalayan salt lamp, which is known for its characteristic pink-red-orange glow. It is believed to purify the air and enhance mood by emitting negative ions, although scientific evidence supporting these health benefits is limited.

    Himalayan Salt Lamp

Some people believe that they can purify the air, improve mental health, and help with asthma. But thereโ€™s little research to back up these claims.

    I feel relaxed. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • Orange Frog

    Aug 27th, 2025

I came across this tiny little Orange Frog when I last visited #SheppertonZoo. It was so tiny. Wonders if is the poisonous orange frog?

  • Looking Much Better. :)

    Aug 26th, 2025

My block paving appears to look much better. Given the cooler evening temperatures, I decided to go outside and carefully sweep a box of sand onto my driveway. I had to fill and level the gaps between the blocks. It was a time-consuming process, but I am satisfied with the results. I may need to buy another box of sand though. I ordered it from Amazon, and they provided a prompt delivery, which was appreciated.

Overall, the appearance of my block paving has significantly improved. Another job out of the way, until the next time.  ๐Ÿ™‚

  • “Materialists”

    Aug 26th, 2025

For those who know me well, they are aware that I enjoy watching romantic comedy films from time to time. I had not seen a good romcom in quite some time, so I was pleasantly surprised when I watched “Materialists” this evening, as this romcom met my expectations. ๐Ÿ™‚

    “Materialists”

I am pleased to give it a positive review, as I thoroughly enjoyed it. Dakota Johnson, Chris Evans, and Pedro Pascal delivered compelling performances that kept my attention throughout.

I particularly appreciated the filmโ€™s underlying message about the potential risks associated with using dating agencies, especially since I grew up in an era when such agencies did not exist. While these agencies have helped many people find their life partners, it is important to also consider the potential dangers involved.

Overall, it was an excellent film. ๐Ÿ™‚

  • American Novelist Louisa May Alcott – Author Of “Little Women” and “Rose In Bloom”

    Aug 25th, 2025

Louisa May Alcott was an American novelist best known for her classic book “Little Women.” I loved both the book, and there have been a few film adaptions over the years. I often wonder which of the sisters best reflects my personalityโ€” was it Jo, Beth, Meg, or Amy March?ย  ๐Ÿ™‚ It was a profoundly tragic story, especially when “Beth” March unexpectedly passed away due to Scarlet Fever. It evoked an emotional response, reminding me of the challenging circumstances of that era and bringing to mind themes from “The Brontรซs.”

“Little Women” is a semi-autobiographical novel inspired by Louisa May Alcott’s own experiences with her three sisters. If you have not yet read the book or watched the film adaptation, I highly recommend it.

Alcott also wrote “Rose In Bloom” which was a sequel to “Eight Cousins.” The narrative centres on Rose Campbell following her return from travelling abroad. As a person of wealth, she endeavours to discern authentic friendships and romantic relationships from those motivated primarily by her financial status. Additionally, the story highlights the significance of independence and the pursuit of personal purpose beyond considerations of marriage, set against the backdrop of numerous suitors.

The story is set in the 19th century and reflects Alcott’s views on women’s roles, education, and class differences. friendships and romantic relationships.

    I love this story. ๐Ÿ™‚
