SmileyRose Ramblings by Frances Rose Agnes Napper (She/Her)

  • Q. Is it better to be alone or with someone who spends his life cheating on you SmileyRose?

    Jun 8th, 2024

    A. Alone. Hoping I find a lifetime partner.

If I don’t find him, then it is better to have loved, than to never have loved at all.

You cannot spend your life being disrespected. You have to stand alone sometimes than to be treated like a doormat.

  • Seeking A Friend For The End Of The World

    Jun 8th, 2024

I went to the cinema to watch this film, with my eldest daughter Kitty, a few years ago. We both loved the film. In fact, it is one of my top 20 films.

It starts the fabulous actors Steve Carell and Keira Knightley.

This song features in the film right at the end. I love the song.
Cheers at “TWE” The World’s End πŸ˜‰
  • Be Honest! Love Hurts!

    Jun 7th, 2024

If the man you love, does not see that you love him and he gets agitated by your very existence, then the only alternative is to keep making yourself scarce.

Perhaps his intentions/aims are to push you away in the first place.

Why can’t people just be honest? If they are not interested in you, then just say it. Don’t make the person believe otherwise.

You should never tell someone that you love them and not mean it.

If you don’t love the person, then go ahead and tell them, in a way that might let them down a little, but not in a cruel manner.

If you’ve fallen in love with someone else, then you need to be honest. Don’t make someone believe that they are the love of your life if that isn’t the case. That is being untruthful.

It can be less damaging to the person who you are letting down, if there is honesty.

If you treat someone harshly then don’t be surprised that you may frightened them away. Learn to soften your abruptness, because everyone deserves to be treated with respect, even when you are breaking up with them.

  • Q. Have you ever resided in America, SmileyRose?

    Jun 7th, 2024

    A. Not at all. πŸ™‚ I have never resided in America, however, I have visited California, during a holiday. I have never lived in the USA though.

To be perfectly honest, I have never thought about living abroad, away from England. I happen to love my home country. It has never been an issue.

I have lived abroad, however, it was only temporarily and I felt quite homesick whilst living away. I am always glad to be home every single time I go away. πŸ™‚

There’s no place like home. πŸ˜€

  • D-Day Remembrance Day – 80 Years Ago

    Jun 6th, 2024

Remembering all of those brave people who lost their lives, during the Allied invasion of Normandy, during World War II, on 6th June 1944, D-Day.

This operation, known as Operation Overlord, was the largest amphibious assault in history and marked a pivotal turning point in the war against Nazi Germany. Here are key aspects of D-Day remembrance:

    1. Significance: D-Day is remembered for the bravery and sacrifice of the Allied forces, which included troops from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, and other nations. The operation was crucial in liberating Western Europe from Nazi occupation.
    2. Ceremonies and Events: Commemorative events are held annually at various sites, including the Normandy beaches, cemeteries, and memorials. These events often involve veterans, military officials, and dignitaries, featuring speeches, wreath-laying, and reenactments.
    3. Historical Reflection: Museums, documentaries, books, and educational programs help keep the history of D-Day alive, ensuring future generations understand its importance.
    4. Personal Stories: Many take the opportunity to honor individual stories of heroism and loss, often shared through family anecdotes, veteran testimonies, and archival materials.
    5. Symbols and Traditions: The poppy, a symbol of remembrance, and the use of military uniforms and regalia are common during commemorations. Moments of silence and the playing of “Taps” are also traditional.

D-Day remembrance serves not only to honor those who fought and died but also to reflect on the broader implications of war and the enduring quest for peace and freedom.
