  • She burst into Show business as a child prodigy, but because there was so much pressure for her to look a certain way, she became too thin and very ill.

Lena Zavaroni was a young girl with a huge talent. She suffered from Anorexia Norvosa, which is an eating disorder that makes people want to keep their weight too low for their body frame. It was a sad loss to the world of entertainment after Lena passed away.

Why is there so much pressure for females in particular, who are in the entertainment business, to look so thin? Why is there a stigma to look skinny? My own daughter went through a phase of not eating properly, because she thought that she would be accepted more, if she looked thinner. I was so upset because she looked so ill at the time.

I am a Mother and I love my children. I disagree that this sort of pressure should put on any child. I would like to see healthy and normal looking females encouraged in the world of show business. It is important for a child not to have any hang-ups about their bodies.

I can remember Lena winning Opportunity Knocks. She was such a talented singer.

  • ‘The lily is a delicate and elegant messenger of love.”

  • The Spice Girls

    “Two Become One”

This is the image the public loved when the Spice Girls were at the height of their fame. They were successful because the public loved them. As a Mother of two young children, at the time, I loved their look and their image.

I was always more Posh Spice. 🙂

  • I do wish people would stop confusing me for being my Mum. I am not her! We are two individuals and I am completely different. My daughter is an individual. I love her for being herself. If more people were just themselves, rather than trying to be Someone they’re not, it would be a much happier place.

I actually love people who are a little different to me and who are not the same as me. It is good to encourage people to be themselves and for their own merits and not someone else’s.

Rather than latching onto someone else, then it is a good idea to just be yourself.

On my social media sites, I am an individual (not associated with work). At work, I am a team, when in a relationship I am in a partnership. When I am with my children, I am a Mother. I am #Me

I would like to have a strong relationship with a partner one day. He will become part of everything I do. Why? Because that is what people “in love” do. He will be included in part of my daily life. Two will become one. I will still be an individual but within a shared role.🙂
