  • Q. What language did your parents speak as their primary language SmileyRose?

    A. Neither could speak any other language, other than the English language.

    Q. What is the primary language of the rest of your family SmileyRose, ie what language did your sisters, ex-husband and children speak?

    A. They could only speak the English language as their primary language. It was the only language we all spoke together.

If you come from a Scots, Irish, Welsh, American, New Zealand or Australian background, you are likely to speak English as your primary language!

If you come from another white background, it may mean that English is not necessarily your primary language.

Primary language is the language that someone uses most frequently to communicate with. It is the language a person uses in most situations. For many people, their primary language is their first language, but for others, their primary language might be their second language.

My family’s primary language, #English, is their first language.

  • Frances Ruffle (my name sake) sings “On My Own” from the Victor Hugo musical, Les Miserables, a show I went to see a number of years ago at the Westend, London. It is still one of my favourite musicals ever. πŸ™‚

  • Please note that I do not feature anyone else’s photos on my blog site unless it is a photograph of me, at a public event…..and not a private event.

I do not allow anyone to use any of my photographs. I may sell some photographs in the future.

  • To call someone a #truefriend, you have to trust that person and you have to get to know them well enough.

You can be acquainted with people from the younger generation, however, that does not make them good friends. My friends are the people I keep in regular contact with, but that does not extend to their families, as I may not know them.

I have to know a person, for me to like someone. I think most people feel the same way as I do. If you don’t spend time with someone, how do you know them? I never take people on just face value. It is important for me to get to know a person before I can say that I like them.

People have been coming in and out of my life for many years. I have lots of acquaintances however are they true friends?

Maybe just a few these days. Sadly, times are not like they used to be.

    Nobody wants fake friends though.

  • I don’t think I have changed much. πŸ™‚
