  • The Bourne Abbey (Church of St Peter & St Paul), Bourne & Barchester Cedars Home, Bourne

    Apr 14th, 2024

It was such a lovely day today. I decided to take a drive to Bourne Abbey.

Bourne Abbey is a historic monastery located in Lincolnshire, England. It was founded in the 11th century and became an important religious and cultural centre in the region. The abbey’s architecture showcases Norman and Gothic styles, with notable features including its impressive nave and tower. Today, Bourne Abbey is a Grade I listed building and serves as both a place of worship and a tourist attraction, offering visitors a glimpse into England’s medieval history.

Barchester’s cedar home is a charming retreat nestled among towering cedar trees, with a rustic yet elegant exterior made of warm cedar wood panels. Inside, you’ll find spacious rooms adorned with cosy furnishings, large windows offering breathtaking views of the surrounding forest, and a crackling fireplace providing a cosy ambiance. The home exudes a sense of tranquillity and natural beauty, inviting you to relax and unwind in its peaceful surroundings.

    Apr 14th, 2024

I am not really a singer, but I love to sing. Lol I have only sung in public on one occasion. Below are two recent songs I have tried singing. I find singing can be relaxing and fun.

I love to sing on Smule occasionally when I am not at work. I sing female vocals only.  🙂

  • The Ring Tailed Lemurs, Hamerton Zoo Park

    Apr 14th, 2024

I had a fabulous experience feeding the Ring-Tailed Lemurs a few years ago, at the Hamerton Zoo Park, Huntingdonshire.

Hamerton Zoo Park, located in England, is known for its wide variety of exotic animals, including big cats like tigers and jaguars, as well as primates, birds, and reptiles. It’s praised for its conservation efforts and educational programs, offering visitors a chance to learn about wildlife while enjoying the zoo’s beautiful surroundings.

Ring-tailed lemurs are charismatic primates known for their distinctive black and white ringed tails. They have expressive faces with bright golden eyes, and their fur is predominantly grey with white bellies. They’re arboreal creatures but spend a significant amount of time on the ground, moving quadrupedally. These social animals live in groups called troops, led by dominant females. They’re primarily found in Madagascar’s forests and are known for their unique vocalizations and intricate social behaviors.

Me! I had just returned from a two holiday in Cyprus when this photo was taken.

  • The Sue Ryder Hospice

    Apr 14th, 2024

I visited the Sue Ryder Hospice a few years ago. As I walked around the garden of the hospice, there was a feeling of tranquillity and peacefulness.

Visiting the Sue Ryder Hospice is an experience of compassionate care and support. The serene environment, coupled with the attentive staff, creates a comforting atmosphere for both patients and their loved ones. From the moment you step in, there’s a palpable sense of warmth and understanding, making it a place of solace during difficult times.

  • Beauty Has No Skin Tone

    Apr 14th, 2024

“Skin has no skin tone” refers to a concept where the skin is perceived without any colouration, as if it’s neutral or transparent. This idea is often used metaphorically to emphasize equality or the notion that underneath the surface, we’re all the same.

  • A Short Stop-off At Hunstanton

    Apr 14th, 2024

Last year, I was on my way home after spending a few days away in a nearby seaside town. The weather had been extremely nice and I had a few days of annual leave left. It was great to relax by the sea, just recuperating after feeling a little under the weather.

I was driving along the Norfolk coast when I decided to stop off at Hunstanton for lunch. 🙂

    Me

As I gazed out at the ocean, I was greeted by an expanse of azure stretching to the horizon, where the sky meets the sea in a seamless blend of blue hues. The rhythmic dance of waves creates a soothing symphony, their crests catching the sunlight and shimmering like diamonds. Seagulls glide effortlessly overhead, adding their calls to the chorus of the sea. The salty breeze carries the faint scent of seaweed and brine, invigorating your senses and stirring a sense of awe at the vastness and beauty of the ocean.

  • Roses In My Garden

    Apr 13th, 2024

A rose, with its delicate petals unfurling like layers of silk, exudes an intoxicating fragrance that dances on the breeze. Its vibrant hues, from velvety red to soft pink/apricot, captivate the eye, while its thorny stem reminds us of its resilience amidst beauty.

    Me, last year. 🙂
  • An Afternoon Nap

    Apr 13th, 2024

Taking an afternoon nap can be beneficial for some people.

Me – Waking up from an afternoon nap. I am a Napper by name and a Napper by nature 😉

An afternoon nap, when timed right and kept short, can offer various benefits like improved mood, increased alertness, and enhanced cognitive function. However, if it’s too long or too late in the day, it might interfere with nighttime sleep and leave you feeling groggy. So, moderation and timing are key to making the most of an afternoon nap.

Lol so anyone talking to me, will be treated with kindness today as I have slept well. 😴🤣🤣🤣
